To remember, would you mind, just in case, to charge

- Recordar el … de … : to remember the … to…
· I can't remember the words to a song: no puedo recordar la letra de una canción.
· He can't remember the number to the bank account: no recuerda el número de la cuenta bancaria.

- ¿Te importaría + gerundio...? = would you mind + gerund...?.
- ¿Te importaría si…? = would you mind if…?.
            · Would you mind answering some questions?: ¿te importaría contestar unas preguntas?.
            · Would you mind taking me home?: ¿te importaría llevarme a casa?.
            · Would you mind if I turn on the TV?: ¿te importaría si enciendo la television?

- Por si acaso: just in case.
            · I’m taking the umbrella just in case it rains: cogeré el paraguas por si acaso llueve.
            · Just in case there is any mistake, I’ll check it: por si acaso hay algún error, lo comprobaré.

- Cobrar: to charge.
            · I'm going to charge you for the labor: te voy a cobar la mano de obra.
            · He’s going to charge you 5 euros: él te va a cobrar 5 euros.

To keep from, to sign up for, to make sense, to make sure.

- Impedir: to keep from.
            · We have to remove the obstacles that keep us from progressing: Tenemos que eliminar los obstáculos que nos impiden progresar.
            · Your shyness keeps you from meeting people: tu timidez te impide conocer gente nueva.

- Apuntarse para, inscribirse: to sign up for.
            · When did you sign up for this course?: ¿cuando te apuntaste para este curso?.
            · Your mother signed you up for the excursion: Tu madre te inscribió para la excursion.

- Tener (algún) sentido: to make (any) sense.
            · Going to the beach with this weather doesn’t make sense: ir a la playa con este tiempo no tiene ningún sentido.
            · The combination of the two texts makes sense: la combinación de los dos textos parece tener sentido.
            · Does it make any sense to make a high-speed train line to Tardienta?: ¿Tiene algún sentido hacer una linea de AVE a Tardienta?.

- Asegurarse de: to make sure.
            · Make sure you take the keys before leaving: Asegúrate de coger las llaves antes de salir.
            · We need to make sure that the printer works well: Tenemos que asegurarnos de que la impresora funciona bien.

To be likely, It's a good thing, On/in time, To refuse

- Ser probable: to be likely.
            · This company is likely to go bankrupt: Es probable que esta compañía vaya a la bancarrota.
            · It's likely you'll be bored due to the rain: Es probable que te aburras debido a la lluvia.
            · A traffic jam is unlikely to happen: Es poco probable que haya atasco.

- Menos mal: it's a good thing.
            · It's a good thing it works well! : ¡menos mal que funciona bien!.
            · It’s a good thing we didn’t go to the party!: ¡menos mal que no fuimos a la fiesta!.
* Hablando coloquialmente se podría obviar el “It’s a”:
                        · Goog thing you came!: ¡Menos mal que viniste!.

- A tiempo: on time. Esta expresión se usa cuando se hace algo justo en la fecha límite.
- A tiempo: in time. Y esta se usa cuando se hace algo a tiempo, antes de llegar a la fecha límite.
            * I gave the project on time: entregué el proyecto justo a tiempo.
            * They got to the stadium in time: Llegaron al estadio a tiempo (con tiempo de sobra).

- Negarse a: to refuse.
            * They refused to do the job: ellos se negaron a hacer el trabajo.
            * She refused to sign the agreement: ella se negó a firmar el contrato.

Misspelling, To master, To find out, To fall behind

- Falta de ortografía: misspelling.
- Cometer una falta de ortografía, deletrear mal: to misspell.
            · You've misspelled my name: Has escrito mal mi nombre.
            · There are quite a few misspellings in his blog: hay bastantes faltas de ortografía su blog.

- Llegar a dominar: to master.
            · After training hard, I’ve mastered my serve: tras entrenar duro, he conseguido dominar mi saque.
            · Mastering English takes a lot of work: llegar a dominar el ingles cuesta mucho trabajo.

- Averiguar, descubrir: to find out.   
            · I want to find out who did it: quiero averiguar quién lo hizo.
            · I’m sure he’ll find out a way to fix it: estoy seguro de que él descubrirá una forma de arreglarlo.

- Quedarse atrás: to fall behind.
            · The new students are falling behind: los nuevos estudiantes se están quedando atrás.
            · The poorest regions are falling behind in technology integration: las regiones más pobres se están quedando atrás en la integración de nuevas tecnologías.

- Bastante: quite a bit of (incontable).
- Bastantes: quite a few (contable).
- Bastante/s: quite a lot (contable o incontable).
                · There is quite a bit of milk in the fridge: Hay bastante leche en la nevera.
                · There are quite a few bars in this city: Hay bastantes bares en esta ciudad.
                * En ambos casos se podría haber utilizado quite a lot of.

- Contratiempo, revés:  setback.
                · Yesterday’s snowfall was major setback for the construction: La nevada de ayer fue un serio contratiempo en la construcción.

- To look forward to + gerundio: esperar (con ilusión).
                · I’m looking forward to seeing you again: estoy esperando a volver a verte.
                · I’m looking forward to the summer: estoy deseando que llegue el verano.

- To be delighted with: estar encantado con.
                · I’m delighted with this weather!:  ¡estoy encantado con este tiempo!
                · They’re delighted with the new teacher: Están encantados con el nuevo profesor.
